Indranil Gupta (Indy) is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign). He leads the Distributed Protocols Research Group, which works on large-scale distributed systems with a focus on cloud computing and datacenter systems.

Indy has worked in Google, Microsoft Research, and IBM Research. He received his NSF CAREER award in 2005, and numerous awards backed by industry. Indy received his PhD from Cornell University (2004), Bachelor of Technology from Indian Institute of Technology Madras in 1998.
